The first thing that occurs into our minds while debating about women's health are the problems correlated to menstruation.

Unlike men, women, right from the time their system starts producing eggs, begin menstruating in cycles of approximately 30 days, when there is flow of blood from their vagina, which is nothing but eggs that have not joined with sperm and do not result in conception, and flow away from the uterus through the vaginal opening. Since there is a rhythm in the body, the women can calculate when they are going to have periods approximately, and plan their activities, including keeping sufficient material to drain up and dry the flow through sanitary pads etc.

Although every girl is familiar with this reality of life, she should be caution and careful of undesired pregnancies and avoid getting pregnant specially during her teens as this would create an impact on her health both psychologically and physically. It is sad but true, the menstrual cycle brings in its own worries through which every women has to undergo in her lifetime.

Although with the help of some documents from the pharmaceutical circles, the existing generation may be well informed about the problems that are related to a lady's health and the function of nutrition in this reference, sadly very little is known as to how natural products all over can assist in handling the menstrual cycle.

Generally Women can have disorders such as - 1. Menorrhagia - Periods which are emblematic of heavy or long menstrual flow. 2. Dysmenorrhea - Highly painful periods. 3. Hypomenorrhea - Scanty periods. 4. Amenorrhea - Skipped period. 5. Oligomenorrhea - Impaired breaks of menstrual period.

Most women suffer from Premenstrual syndrome or rather pain just before their menstrual cycle. During menstruation sometimes women have headache, cramps, back pain and tender-breast. These are generally caused due to hormonal changes and the changes that take place while omitting the uterus lining. Below are some natural remedies which can be very helpful to reduce these problems-

1) Black cohosh - Black cohosh is very useful in eliminating depression problems and puts an end to hot flushes. Regular intake of Black cohosh will put an end to all menstrual problems.

2) Licorice Root - Licorice Root is an ancient Chinese herb which is extremely effective curing female reproductive problems.

3) Vitamin C - If you are suffering from iron deficiency then wise to consume Vitamin C regularly. It not only brings up the iron content in the body but also helps to get rid of all problems connected with iron deficiency. To reduce menstrual pain have regular intake of minerals, vitamins and nutrients.

4. Flax seed- Flax seed is effective in curing hormonal imbalances.

5. Avoid Alcohol - Don't drink alcohol. Alcohol aggravates your problem. You can limit it to light wine only.

6) Herbs, tea and others - Herbs can lessen the heavy flow. So it is vital for you to take Shepherd's purse in your daily routine.
